OVERVIEW & HISTORY

Marie Marguerite de Brianson had a great influence on the Château's history. In April 1832 she was hostess to the Duchess de Berry, widow of the Duc de Berry (son of Charles X, heir to the throne). Marie Caroline de Boubon- Sicile undertook a journey from Provence in order to stir up a rising in the Vendée against Louis Philippe.

She was dressed as a man, carrying a passport in the name of " petit Pierre ". She was welcomed by Marie Marguerite de Brianson and stayed in the Château du Pierrail.
From 1887, the domaine was decaying until 1970 when arrived the Demonchaux Family
